Meet Robb Ferer, Founder of Container Concepts®

Robb Ferer has survived the trenches of the hospitality and restaurant industry with over 35 years of experience in the operational functions of leading hotel and restaurant facilities. He has a proven track record of using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to improve systems and maximize profits. Robb has developed and supervised multiple successful projects for family-owned restaurants and independent clients.
His interest in the industry began with his father, Aaron Ferer, one of the founders of Grill Concepts, the company behind the widely successful Grill on the Alley, Daily Grill, and Public School chains. The Ferer family went on to open Cappellini, Carpaccio, Buffalo Grill, Joanne’s Diner, and Barley & Hops Microbrewery in Northern California, as well as Tuscany, L'Avenue Bistro, and Franc’s in Salt Lake City.
Robb has held the Director of Food and Beverage position at Park City Silver Mine Adventure, along with supervisory positions at Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah, and the Four Seasons Biltmore Resort in Santa Barbara, California.
After graduate school, he worked as Head Estimator for Terra Nova Industries, one of the top restaurant general contractors in the country.
In 2007, Robb left Terra Nova to form Pineapple Concepts, a boutique consultation and design firm for small independent restaurants. Pineapple Concepts has since expanded to include large chains, brand growth, and development.
Robb is a licensed California Commercial Real Estate Broker managing 400,000 square feet of industrial property in Los Angeles, California, for Ventura Group, another family business. Tenants include Target, Iron Mountain, Mattel, and Marshall Electronics.
Robb holds four degrees: Leisure Services Management and Resort Management from the University of Utah, as well as an MBA in Hospitality/Restaurant Development and a Master’s degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver – Daniels College of Business.
